Lots of Happenings...

Drew and Garrett have had quite a full couple of weeks lately. This week they visited Nana's and Aunt Kim's house to see Shelby and welcome their newest little friend, Sofie. Sofie was born on July 10th; Jeff and Sylvia (her new parents) were so excited! Drew and Garrett enjoyed meeting her as well.

And on the potty front... we are officially finished!!! Drew has decided to be potty trained now!!! We are doing it ALL in the potty! Thank goodness for the pediatricians advice!!! No, he didn't have any special words of wisdom, just a great story. Dr. Matthews has been around the block a few times, so we enlisted his help in finishing up this what seemed to be never ending saga! The wise doctor said "You have to play to their developmental level. Three year olds are into imagination/pretending. So, you need to tell him the next time that he poops his pants 'How sad, your poo-poos don't get to go to the party. There is a party under the house where all the poo-poos go, and your poo-poos don't get to go, because they aren't in the potty.' " Low and behold, he bought it hook line and sinker, so now his poo-poos are having a party under the house too. Funny thing, when he pooped in my mom's toilet, she asked him if his poo-poos were having a party under her house. He said, "No. They are having a party in Carlos." (Carlos is where we are living right now) So I guess there is a direct line for all poop under our house. That explains the foul stench we had when the septic tank backed up the other day...

Garret in disguise... with glasses!

And Garrett has been rolling around and wiggling all over. He rolled over according to Gran (Trey's Mom) a few weeks ago, although she was the only one who saw it. This weekend he was rolling all over the place. He also has 2 shiny pearly whites on the bottom too! And the top two teeth are coming in as well. (Not so fun when your breastfeeding though) I just love babies with little teeth sticking out! They are so cute! Garrett is also 5 months old as of yesterday! How time flies! It seems like it was just yesterday when I was in hospital with him. He is just the sweetest, most patient, happy little thing. (Maybe not little...) He weighs in at around 20 pounds and dwarfs his new little friends and cousin that were recently born. He is such a blessing, as is his older brother. I love my boys!!!

That is the BEST poop story! I will most definitely be remembering it, and most likely using that someday. :-)

Your boys are so cute! I hope to meet Mr. Garret sometime. I can't believe he's already 20 pounds. At 8 1/2 months, Taylor was already 22 lbs! I love the glasses.

I love my boys too! The city of Pasadena is grateful for any of the extra pollution Carlos is willing to take.
Love you all!
Nana
